How scriptural is the church Tithe? Church’s often  push the Biblical tithe. This is something I have struggled with for years… How much is considered 10% to God?  Does that mean before or after taxes? I have been told that it means before taxes by a sunday school teacher.

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly orunder compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

That’s about all it says in the new testament folks.. But the opinion of the 10% is just so controversial… I already pay the government over 10% in taxes… I understand the  tithe back in the bible days given to the priests as a tax.

If that’s the case then anything I give a church or TV evangelist (oh my) then it is above and beyond the tithe…Correct?

I don’t want to do it out of duty…But CHEERFULLY

I believe that giving IS a spiritual principal…That pays well… If not now, then later, in “glory” as they say… Church Hymn Lingo :)

It’s been a tough economy. Even worse now as I update this post. But if I got some faith how about throw a little money at it.. Do ya believe or not?

The argument against 2 Cor 9:7 is that it is in addition to the tithe.

I agree with you though. My site has over 150 articles at http://www.tithing-russkelly.com

    May God bless you.
