Open Office Vs. Microsoft Office

Open Office Vs. Microsoft Office

Microsoft office is the undisputed king of office apps. Everyone and their dog uses it. It must also be the most pirated program in the world too. I am typing this blog using Open Office. Just because I am a poor guy.

Us poor people have to go with whatever we can get to try and get the same results as those rich guys who can afford $700 computer programs.

It’s a good thing there are programmers out there who realize that some of us folks just aint’ got that kind of capital to throw around… I have often wondered why those guys create these great programs for free….

Just for the fun and practice of it right?

Say now , what can a poor boy do? Except sing for a rock n roll band?
-Mick and the boys….

This post is from Sept of 2008. Microsoft office is now a subscription based service and I’m unsure if Open Office even exists as it was. This still several cheap of free alternatives to Microsoft Office.

I got a notice from Google about my Adsense account. You can see the ad’s there on the right..(maybe) I have owned this site for several years.. I don’t blog on it much anymore. My brother uses it  a lot – he is a film buff and enjoys reviewing movies .

So anyway Google sends me an email…

One or more of your sites has been in violation of AdSense policies.

Huh? What the heck are they talking about? I go over and look!  Here it is! Yes.. My old blog… Violating Google Rules… What is it?

    Well….The Email says:

AD MISLABELING: Publishers may not implement Google ads in a manner that disguises the ads in any way.

How am I doin that?  OH…. It said ‘KEWL’ above one ad. And  ‘Stuff” above another.. It can’t say that.  It has to say – Advertisements’ Or ‘sponsored links’ 😉

OK… I’m glad we got that cleared up. I have had this site up since like 2008. Hmmm 8 years. Sorry I didn’t wanna break any rules…Good they got around to telling me.

I took a quick look at my balance while I was fixing the problems..  A grand total of $76.66

    It’s money in the bank……

I was doing a Google search for “Vote Democrat” on Election Day. I was wondering what would come up. Now that the mid term is over I can go ahead and write a little something about it. So how were the results?

    Vote Democrat

I’m sure you can guess how the hipster voted but I wanted to know what kind of information would come up if I did this search on Google. The first site to come up was the official democrat site of course. Gee I would hope so. (more…)

    Blogging, SEO and Google

Hipster BloggerI don’t write about blogging much.  What’s the point? There are thousands of blogs out there about blogging”  They teach about SEO, writing tips, making money, social networking, twitter, blog niche’s etc…

I have actually been working a lot on this blog tonight. Tweaking an old post that I discovered was ranking high in Google.  This was  interesting since the post was only one paragraph long. (more…)
